You feel your guts heave and your visions blurs as a howling, agonising scream rips through your mind. The creature before you rears up, a statuesque human body atop an immense, heaving bundle of snake coils. From its neck writhes a bush of twisting snake heads, their eyes pulsing with ghostly light as they turn down toward you and your companions. Beneath its scales, the shapes of thousands of squirming snakes shift and flow like ghastly tumours, occasionally bursting through small tears in its flesh before
slithering back inside. Slowly, as though testing its body, it flexes its clawed fingers, the air seeming to bend and shift around them, and its many fanged maws snap open in unison. And the keening, maddening scream goes on and on, like a hot poker against the base of your skull, full of pain and rage and more hate than you knew existed…
