The Ekrothari are a people of elves that settled in the Everdune long ago. Their young learn quickly to thrive in the deadliest of environments - to fail in this test is to die. Before they are considered an Ekrothari, each young elf must demonstrate the ability to survive alone for weeks in the desert, equipped only with the clothes on their back and a ceremonial dagger that they will carry for the rest of their lives.
